Characteristics and Introduction of Submersible Pumps

A submersible pump is a water lifting device that operates when the entire unit is submerged in water. The working principle of a submersible pump is to drive the impeller to rotate through a motor, generating centrifugal force and creating a low-pressure zone in the center area of the impeller. Water is sucked into the pump body, and under the action of the impeller blades, it obtains velocity energy and pressure energy. It is then discharged from the pump outlet through the guide shell, diffuser, etc. Widely used in domestic water supply, mining emergency rescue, industrial cooling, farmland irrigation, seawater lifting, ship loading, urban water supply and drainage, fountain landscape and other fields. Choosing the appropriate submersible pump should be based on actual usage scenarios and core parameters to avoid performance waste or deficiencies.

The main components of a submersible pump include a motor, pump body, impeller, sealing device, etc. The shell is usually made of cast iron or stainless steel material, used to wrap around the motor and impeller, providing sealing and protection. The impeller is a pumping component, often made of cast iron or plastic, and the motor is the source of power. Water cooled or oil immersed motors are commonly used.

Submersible pumps have the advantages of simple structure, small size, high efficiency, and easy operation. They are suitable for various complex environments and can directly deliver water to where it is needed without the need for an additional pump station. They also have self-priming function.
