Characteristics of single-stage centrifugal pump

A single-stage pump, also known as a single-stage centrifugal pump, refers to a pump with only one impeller. The structural composition of a single-stage pump mainly consists of impeller, pump casing, shaft seal, bearings, pump shaft, drive device and other components. The impeller is the core component that rotates with the pump shaft to do work on the fluid. The pump casing surrounds the impeller, forming a fluid channel. The shaft seal prevents fluid leakage, and the bearing supports the pump shaft. The pump shaft connects the impeller and the driving device, which provides rotational power for the pump. Before starting a single-stage pump, it is necessary to fill the pump with liquid to fill the suction pipeline and pump casing. After starting, the impeller rotates at high speed under the driving device, and the liquid moves outward from the impeller along the inter blade flow channel under the action of centrifugal force. It is thrown out of the impeller and enters the pump casing, where its speed decreases and kinetic energy is converted into pressure energy, which is then discharged from the outlet. At the same time, the center of the impeller forms a low-pressure zone, and the liquid is continuously sucked into the pipe and enters the impeller under the pressure difference, achieving continuous transportation.

Single stage pumps can be divided into horizontal single-stage pumps and vertical single-stage pumps according to the installation position of the motor. Typical horizontal single-stage pumps include IS type, IR type, etc. Vertical single-stage pumps are represented by ISG type, and can be divided into single-stage suction centrifugal pumps and single-stage double suction centrifugal pumps according to the suction channel. Single stage single suction centrifugal pumps are represented by IS type, and single-stage double suction pumps are represented by S type.

Single stage pumps have the characteristics of simple and compact structure, high efficiency and low energy consumption, easy maintenance, and wide application fields. It is easy to install and debug, with low fluid flow resistance inside the pump, high efficiency, low energy consumption, and maintenance personnel can quickly locate and solve faults when they occur.

Single stage centrifugal pumps are widely used in industrial fields such as machine tools, metallurgy, petrochemicals, etc., agricultural fields such as providing power for sprinkler systems, and aerospace fields such as boosting and transporting liquid fuel in rocket engines.
